I misteri del giardino di Compton House (1982)
Nel diciassettesimo secolo, in uno Wiltshire apparentemente idilliaco, la moglie di un aristocratico commissiona dodici disegni della tenuta del marito a un ambizioso paesaggista, il quale negozia i termini del contratto prevedendo che includa i favori sessuali della committente. Ma quando dal fossato viene estratto un cadavere, i disegni del paesaggista rischiano di rivelare più di quanto lui creda. Questo brillante, stilizzato ed erotico giallo di campagna ha imposto Peter Greenaway come regista di fama internazionale. I costumi stravaganti, la trama intricata, i dialoghi elegantemente salaci e la colonna sonora ipnotica di Michael Nyman fanno del film una delizia per le orecchie, gli occhi e la mente.
