Una maledetta occasione (1996)
Il detective della squadra Omicidi Ernest Dewalt rimane ferito in uno scontro a fuoco e decide perciò di cambiare vita rifugiandosi in una piccola località della Carolina del Sud, dove comincia ad insegnare al college. Ma la pace del luogo è presto turbata dal ritrovamento del cadavere di un uomo: il giovane professore Alex Laughton. I primi sospetti cadono sulla moglie di Alex, Elizabeth, consapevole della torbida relazione tra suo marito e Jeri, una cameriera sexy e conturbante. Ma la donna si dichiara innocente e convince Ernest ad aiutarla.
