Beautiful Thing (1996)
La scoperta della propria omosessualità da parte del timido Jamie (Berry) e del disadattato Ste (Neal), in un ambiente popolare infarcito di pregiudizi sessisti. Debutto cinematografico di una giovane e quotata regista teatrale, che porta sullo schermo un testo di Jonathan Harvey (anche sceneggiatore) già collaudato con successo sulle scene. Il film è forse un po' troppo edulcorato ma le interpretazioni sono ottime (da tutti i punti di vista). Il film, diventato da subito un cult, è rivolto soprattutto ai giovani gay.
