Flagrante adulterio (1965)
Joe Lampton vive con sua moglie Susan e i loro due figli a Warley, una piccola cittadina del Surrey. Grazie al suo matrimonio con la figlia di un importante magnate, si ritrova a ricoprire la carica di direttore di una delle aziende più importanti della Gran Bretagna, ma non riesce a essere felice. Percepisce di non avere il talento necessario e di essere disprezzato dalle persone che frequenta e persino da suo suocero. Due avvenimenti improvvisi, la sua nomina a consigliere municipale e la scoperta che sua moglie lo tradisce da tempo con Mark, un suo vecchio amico, lo destabilizzano e fanno sì che Joe decida di dare una svolta alla sua vita.
