La tenera canaglia (1991)
Bill Dancer, uno stravagante vagabondo quarantenne, e la piccola Curly Sue, un'orfana di entrambi i genitori, vivono di ingegnosi espedienti. Dopo aver stimolato un incidente facendosi investire dall'automobile di Grey Allison, una ricca avvocatessa di Chicago, Bill e la bambina vengono ospitati a casa della donna. Ciò suscita le ire di Walker Mc Cormick, il fidanzato di Grey, che tenta, inutilmente, di convincerla ad allontanare i due intrusi. Per un insieme di circostanze e, soprattutto, per la vivacità di Curly, la donna si affeziona alla bambina e a Bill il quale, ormai invaghitosi di Grey, è intenzionato a trovare un onesto lavoro. Deluso ed adirato, Mc Cormick denuncia Dancer alla polizia come illegale tutore della bambina.
