Thomas Pickering non ha mai mangiato carne, essendo cresciuto negli anni Ottanta in una famiglia vegetariana per poi abbracciare una dieta vegana. Nella vita si è sempre sentito dire da altre persone che non potrebbero mai diventare vegane. Decide così di girare un documentario per esaminare le varie argomentazioni contrapposte di volta in volta al veganismo. Ne viene fuori un'indagine personale e approfondita, ricca di spunti e testimonianze, condotta con approccio serio ma anche leggero, che riflette sul nostro rapporto con il cibo e sulla nostra cultura alimentare e la sua possibile evoluzione futura.
