The Snapper (1993)
A Barrytown, nella cattolica e un po' bislacca famiglia dell'imbianchino irlandese Dessie Curley, tutto procede come sempre, cioè in modo un po' confusionario. A tenere un minimo d'ordine domestico è la moglie Kay che, per governare a dovere i sei figli e lo stesso marito, deve mettercela proprio tutta. La sostanziale allegria e il rumoroso calore che imperano in casa vengono scardinate da una rivelazione: la figlia maggiore Sharon, nubile, è in attesa di un marmocchio ("snapper" in gergo) e non vuole rivelare a nessuno il nome del padre.
