Jonathan McQuarry è un diligente contabile di umili origini che si è fatto da sé e opera nel florido mondo della finanza. Sebbene sia straordinariamente ingegnoso sul lavoro, è altrettanto inesperto nel privato e quando conosce l'affascinante avvocato aziendale Wyatt Bose scopre un universo a lui sconosciuto, quello notturno, pulsante e sensuale della New York da bere. Grazie a uno scambio accidentale di cellulari Jonathan inizia a ricevere delle telefonate femminili in cui la domanda "Sei libero stasera?" sta per "Vuoi fare l'amore con me senza complicazioni?". Approfittando della Lista dell'amico, momentaneamente fuori città per lavoro, il giovane contabile si lancia nell'avventura erotica dell'esclusivo club del sesso - dove è rigorosamente vietato uscire dall'anonimato - finché non incontra S, una misteriosa biondina che lo farà tracollare.
