La storia del carattere tipografico inframmezzato da interviste con grafici e font designer. Il film si propone di mostrare la bellezza e l'ubiquità di Helvetica, e illuminare le personalità che stanno dietro caratteri tipografici. Essa esplora anche la spaccatura tra modernisti e postmodernisti, esponendo le loro critiche al famoso carattere tipografico.
