Rosalee, commessa in un negozio del West Virginia, ha un sogno ; incontrare il suo idolo, l’attore Tad Hamilton. Un bel giorno, la fortuna le sorride: la ragazza, vince un concorso per trascorrere una serata in compagnia della sua star del cuore. L’incontro tra Rosalee e Tad va benissimo; i due si piacciono e continuano a frequentarsi. Tutto fila liscio, finché un giorno Pete, collega di Rosalee e segretamente innamorato di lei, decide di mettergli i bastoni tra le ruote.
