Otto uomini fuori (1988)
Nel 1919 una squadra di baseball perde un incontro decisivo. Otto dei suoi giocatori si sono fatti comprare. Il film segue soprattutto la vicenda del più anziano di essi, esasperato dalla malafede e dalla taccagneria del suo presidente. Compaiono nella vicenda personaggi famosi come il gangster Arnold Rothestein, che "supervisionò" la corruzione, e il noto scrittore Ring Lardner (impersonato dallo stesso regista).
