Il sergente e la signora (1945)
Barbara Stanwyck interpreta una famosa esperta di matrimonio, cucina e attività casalinghe a cui viene chiesto dal suo editore di ospitare un eroe nazionale per una cena di Natale nella sua celebre casa nel Connecticut. Dovrebbe essere una cosa semplice, ma la donna deve in qualche modo mantenere segreto che è single, non sa cucinare e la casa non è sua. Con molto aiuto, una pianificazione meticolosa e tempisti perfetti, la nostra eroina riesce a cavarsela egregiamente... ma non sarebbe una commedia romantica se non scoppiasse imprevedibilmente l'amore con l'ospite d'onore.
