Quarant'anni fa, Bob Marley intraprese un tour in Europa e negli Stati Uniti con i The Wailers a supporto del loro album Uprising. L'escursione di 38 spettacoli sarebbe stata l'ultima per l'icona del reggae, che morì di cancro l'11 maggio 1981. Marley & The Wailers portarono il concerto a Dortmund, in Germania, il 13 giugno 1980 e il concerto fu filmato per il programma televisivo tedesco di musica dal vivo Rockpalast.
