Bambola meccanica mod. Cherry 2000 (1987)
Anno 2017. Il mondo è uscito da una guerra nucleare conservando parte del proprio apparato industriale, ma alcune tecnologie sono andate perdute in seguito alla distruzione dei centri di produzione più sofisticati. Sam Treadwell vive tranquillo in questo mondo post-tecnologico accudito dalla sua bellissima Cherry 2000, un docile e servizievole androide femmina in grado di svolgere il ruolo di moglie sotto ogni aspetto. Un brutto giorno però il robot si guasta e trattandosi di un modello non più prodotto, non c'è modo di ripararlo. All'uomo non resta che mettersi alla ricerca di un corpo di ricambio nel quale reimpiantare il chip di memoria di Cherry, rimasto intatto. L'unica speranza è una spedizione nelle terre di nessuno, infestate da bande di predoni senza legge, alla ricerca di una delle fabbriche distrutte, dove solo si può sperare di trovare un'altra Cherry.
