Le regole dell'attrazione (2002)
Lauren Hynde (Shannyn Sossamon) perde la verginità durante una festa dall'altisonante nome di "End of the World Party", con uno sconosciuto, ripresa da uno studente di cinema che approfitta del suo svenimento per girare un filmato amatoriale pornografico. La stessa sera Paul Denton (Ian Somerhalder) offre dell'ecstasy ad Handsome Dunce, un ragazzo conosciuto alla festa che tenta inutilmente di baciare, ricevendo in cambio insulti e spintoni: "tre mesi dopo Handsome Dunce ebbe una storia con un mio amico, nel giro di un anno era un frocio totale e diceva di me ch'ero impotente". Sean Bateman (James Van Der Beek) si aggira per la stessa festa con il viso pesto, strappa delle lettere viola e si avvicina ad una biondina del primo anno, che pochi minuti dopo è nella sua stanza, commossa da un paio di canzoni strimpellate alla chitarra: "poco dopo sono nel letto di Sean, mentre lui si chiede quando sia stata l'ultima volta che l'ha fatto da sobrio".
