Cinque anni dopo aver fatto parte di una giuria che ha condannato a morte un famigerato serial killer, Laura è alle prese con alcuni inquietanti eventi. Strane cose stanno accadendo ai membri di quella giuria e diverse tragedie provocano morti senza alcuna spiegazione logica quando, temendo che non si tratti di semplici coincidenze, Laura comincia ad indagare con l'aiuto del detective Callendar e di un suo collega. Scoprirà abbastanza presto una pericolosa verità e di essere anche lei una delle vittime designate.
