Il dilemma del dottore (1959)
Siamo a Londra, alla fine dell'Ottocento. Jennifer, la moglie dell'artista Louis Dubedat, tubercolotico e debosciato implora un celebre medico di prendersi cura del marito. Il medico si consulta con altri luminari e con il suo amico, stanco e povero medico condotto, Blenkinshop. Nel frattempo si viene a scoprire che Louis è un uomo dai facili costumi e quando anche Blenkinshop chiede a Sir Ridgeon di curarlo, quest'ultimo deve risolvere un angoscioso dilemma. Infatti se salva uno non può far nulla per l'altro.
