La volpe della risata (1926)
I genitori di Martha hanno deciso di farla sposare con un uomo che lei nemmeno conosce; il suo nome è Wilson. Lei è contraria e decide di fuggire a Philadelphia. Wilson e Martha si vedranno per la prima volta alla stazione a causa di uno scambio di valigie, il che fa nascere un grosso equivoco, datosi che i due non si sono mai visti! Quando lei se ne va il maggiordomo personale ricorda a Wilson che sta per sposarsi, ma lui non ne vuole sapere; così decide di fingersi matto per mandare a monte le nozze. Un passante (Hardy) s'imbatte in lui e spaventato corre a chiamare il manicomio. Intanto Wilson è già arrivato ed entrato nella casa della futura sposa, dove sorgeranno altre mille peripezie
