Ore disperate (1955)
Tre evasi, Griffin, suo fratello e il grosso Kobish, si rifugiano in casa di mister Hilliard, tenendo sotto sequestro l'intera famiglia (padre, madre, la figlia Dolly e il figlioletto Ralph). Un'amica di Griffin deve portare il denaro necessario alla fuga. Il tempo passa e cresce la tensione; il fratello di Griffin tenta di andarsene ma è intercettato e ucciso dalla polizia, che poi circonda la casa. Bogart, nel ruolo del feroce e disperato criminale, è al limite; la malattia lo rode e si vede. Questo sarà il suo penultimo film. Tensione ad alto livello, magistralmente tenuta dal lavoro di regia di Wyler. Omonimo remake di Cimino nel 1990.
