Il sogno di una notte di mezza estate (1935)
Ad Atene, durante i preparativi delle nozze di Teseo con Ippolita, alla giovane Ermia viene ordinato dal padre di sposare Demetrio. Il giovane, che ha lasciato Elena, è innamorato di Ermia, la quale è però innamorata di Lisandro. La fanciulla rifiuta di sposare l'uomo, nonostante il padre la minacci di morte. Fugge così nel bosco con Lisandro. Qui, i due innamorati sono inseguiti da Demetrio e dalla stessa Elena, la quale decide di mettersi sulle tracce dell'amante fedifrago.
