L'amico d'infanzia (1994)
In seguito alla morte del precedente presentatore, Arnold Gardner, ha ottenuto la direzione del talk show televisivo "La venticinquesima ora". Ma, ecco riemergere dal passato un lontano compagno di scuola che lo vuole rovinare perché cova antichi rancori e che non esita a commettere atroci omicidi. Proprio la televisione è il "mezzo" che registra la conclusione. Pupi Avati torna negli Stati Uniti e vi gira un film decisamente costruito su ritmi e modelli dei più recenti prodotti americani. Un racconto angoscioso, concitato, tecnicamente inappuntabile. Ma non è l'Avati migliore, e neppure il migliore dei thriller (Fonte http://www.filmtv.it)
