Secondo la dottoressa Welard, il modo migliore per far conoscere il suo nuovo compagno ai suoi figli è quello di trascorrere una vacanza tutti insieme in un piccolo cottage sull'isola di Nantucket. Disgraziatamente, l'uomo è troppo impegnato per seguirla (questo si che è amore!), ma sembra che il destino abbia un rimedio inaspettato per lei. Per un disguido con il proprietario dell'abitazione, arriva anche un affascinante chef con prole a seguito. Costretti a una convivenza forzata, scopriranno se gli opposti in un, tempo d'azione molto breve, si scontrano... oppure si attraggono.
