Vic De Salvo è un miliardario italoamericano con la mania di sfondare in televisione. Trova la complicità di un manager messo alla porta da un grosso network che, prima di andarsene, gli firma un contrato. De Salvo produce un pilot e, quando vede che lo mandano in oda in concorrenza con un importantissima partita, trova una breccia nel sistema di rilevamento, lo manipola, e decreta così un grande successo. Fin da giovane De Vito (questa è la sua opera prima) è sempre stato cattivo. Toccare i sistemi di rilevamento Tv in America è un po' come da noi prendere in giro il Papa.
