Condannato a morte (1940)
Il magnate delle spedizioni Cyrus Wentworth, abbattuto per un disastro accaduto al suo transatlantico "Wentworth Castle" (che trasportava, stranamente, una spedizione illecita di obbligazioni cinesi) viene ucciso nel suo ufficio proprio nel momento in cui caccia il fidanzato di sua figlia, Dick Fleming. Naturalmente, Captain Street arresta Dick, ma la giornalista Bobbie Logan, l'attraente spina nel fianco di Street, è così convinta che abbia torto che chiede aiuto al detective James Lee Wong per trovare il vero assassino.
