Dancing at the Blue Iguana (2001)
San Fernando Valley, California. Cinque ballerine e spogliarelliste raccontano la loro vita off-stage. Il film è mediocre e troppo lungo per arrivare a dire qualcosa di scontato e di già noto e cioè che le vite delle protagoniste sono difficili, alcune anche con problemi di droga, e che le loro reazioni emotive sono spesso fuori dal controllo e dunque eccessive. Angela, Daryl Hannah, vorrebbe una vita normale, ma non fa nulla per uscire dal giro e ottenerla. Il regista avverte l’esigenza di porre lo spettatore davanti a scene di sesso abbastanza esplicite, noncurante di come si possa sentire chi guarda. Probabilmente un regista di sesso femminile avrebbe girato e reso in modo differente questo film.
