La prateria senza legge (1955)
Jim “Tex” Wall, alla ricerca dell’ultimo dei tre uomini che hanno violentato e ucciso sua moglie, si unisce a una banda di ladri di bestiame guidata da Hank Hays. Sia i fuorilegge di Hays che una banda rivale capeggiata da Heesman sono stati assunti come braccianti da “Bull” Herrick, uno storpio proprietario di un grande allevamento di bestiame che vuole portare la sua numerosa mandria al mercato. Egli ipotizza che le due bande saranno troppo occupate a tenersi d’occhio a vicenda e che nessuna delle due ruberà il suo bestiame. Helen nutre poca fiducia nel piano artificioso di suo fratello e prova odio e diffidenza nei confronti di entrambi i gruppi. Comincia ad ammorbidirsi nei confronti di Jim, ma cambia improvvisamente atteggiamento quando vede un manifesto con la taglia che afferma che lui ha ucciso due uomini.
