The Lazarus Effect (2015)
In un'università californiana, il dottor Frank Walton è a capo di un progetto di ricerca denominato Lazarus. Lo affiancano la fidanzata Zoe e i giovani assistenti Clay e Niko. Lo scopo della ricerca era migliorare l'attività cerebrale dei pazienti in coma, ma, come scopre anche la giovane studentessa Eva, unitasi al gruppo con lo scopo di filmarne gli esperimenti, i risultati sono stati superiori alle aspettative. Infatti, il team ha creato un particolare siero e tenta un esperimento senza precedenti: riportare in vita Rocky, un cane. Il tentativo riesce: il cane torna in vita e Frank e Zoe se lo portano a casa per controllare gli sviluppi del suo stato. Rocky sembra normale, ma, dagli esami, il siero risulta ancora nel suo cervello, mentre avrebbe dovuto scomparire in breve. Poi il cane comincia a perdere appetito e a diventare aggressivo.
