Londra mi fa morire (1991)
È nel giorno del suo ventesimo compleanno che Clint (Chadwick) decide di cambiare vita: smette di spacciare droga, si fa picchiare e derubare da altri due pusher a cui doveva dei soldi e soffre per Silvie che s'è messa col suo migliore amico. Il lavoro lo trova quasi subito, ma il suo futuro padrone (Dourif) gli pone una condizione: dovrà trovarsi un paiodi scarpe decenti. Hanif Kureishi è il giovane scrittore britannico di origini pachistane che aveva scritto la sceneggiatura del notevole "My Beautiful Launderette" e che da poco ha pubblicato il romanzo "Black album" ispirato al controverso disco di Prince. C'erano dunque molte aspettative per il suo esordio alla regia. Forse troppe ed è per questo che poi, nonostante varie cose indovinate, nessuno ha gridato al capolavoro.
