Matt, un geologo ricercatore in missione al Polo ricorda una relazione con una donna. Lei è Lisa, studentessa americana a Londra che incontra Matt a un concerto. I due danno così inizio a un rapporto che si basa esclusivamente sul sesso e sulla musica. La partecipazione a concerti (con le nove canzoni che scandiscono le stazioni di questa relazione) è l’unica variante ai loro accoppiamenti.
