Lei non ha un nome: è una ragazza che lavora in una libreria, ossessionata dall'amore e dalla perdita della verginità e convinta che il romanticismo altro non è che un complotto maschile per rendere schiave le donne. Lei si trova irresistibilmente attratta da Francis. Stimolata da Jimmy, il suo migliore amico, s'imbatte in una lunga serie di disavventure sessuali. Tra un incontro fallito e l'altro, lei torna sempre da Jimmy, l'unica persona con cui riesca a sentirsi pienamente se stessa. Ma ben presto anche le certezze di Jimmy vacillano quando scopre che la sua fidanzata Simon lo tradisce.
