First to Fight (1967)
Jack è l'unico sopravvissuto a un attacco giapponese alla sua squadra a Guadalcanal. Grazie al suo eroismo e al fatto di essere ancora vivo, diventa un eroe della Medal of Honor. Torna per addestrare nuove reclute per i Marines e si innamora di una ragazza di nome Peggy. Quando l'addestramento e il matrimonio lo lasciano con un senso di vuoto, decide di tornare al fronte. Presto scoprirà che il matrimonio e la vita cambieranno la sua prospettiva sulle estenuanti battaglie che lo attendono.
