Pudsey, cane randagio di Londra, vive felice la sua condizione per le strade di Londra fino a quando incontra i fratelli Molly, George e Tommy. Dopo aver perso il loro padre, i tre sono costretti a trasferirsi insieme alla madre Gail nel sonnolento villaggio di Chuffington, nella casa di proprietà del signor Thorne, un uomo che vive con il gatto Faustus. Non appena inizierà ad adattarsi alla vita familiare e a realizzare ciò che gli mancava quand'era solo, Pudsey dovrà vedersela con un malvagio piano elaborato da Thorne, che lo porterà a salvare l'intera cittadina.
