Una meteora entra nell'atmosfera terrestre e si spezza a metà. Un pezzo colpisce il centro di Lennox, un piccolo paese di montagna, e subito dopo l'area circostante inizia a congelarsi. Il secondo pezzo, invece, crea una zona tropicale tra la neve e il ghiaccio. La studentessa Alex Novak e Charlie Ratchet, locale padre di famiglia, proveranno a riunire le due metà del meteorite per salvare l'intera umanità.
