Il mistero del castello nero (1952)
Nel XVIII secolo, Beckett è invitato dal conte Von Bruno nel suo castello in Austria. Accettando l'invito, Beckett spera di dimostrare come il conte sia responsabile della morte di due dei suoi amici. Al suo arrivo si ritrova però ad avere a che fare con un padrone di casa sadico e i suoi ospiti che hanno in mente di eliminarlo in maniera orribile alla prima occasione. Quando poi incontra Elga, la riluttante sposa del conte, Beckett si ripromette di liberarla da quella residenza maledetta.
