Il boy Friend (1971)
In un vecchio teatro di Portsmouth sta per essere rappresentata la commedia musicale "The Boy Friend" quando un banale incidente priva la compagnia della sua protagonista. Il capocomico, Max, decide in fretta e furia di affidare la parte alla sua trovarobe, la giovane e inesperta Polly Browne. Mentre i suoi colleghi sono impegnati a dare il meglio di sè, poiché è presente in teatro il celebre regista hollywoodiano De Million, ed essi sperano di essere da lui scritturati, Polly non ha occhi che per il suo partner, Tony, di cui è innamorata. Superato l'imbarazzo iniziale, Polly finisce per interpretare la sua parte con tanta sincerità da essere l'unica, della compagnia, a ottenere una scrittura da De Million. Poiché, però, Tony le ha finalmente dimostrato di ricambiare il suo amore per lui, la ragazza rinuncia ad andare ad Hollywood.
