Burke Wyatt, un ex poliziotto, fresco di separazione dalla moglie, viene reclutato dall'Fbi per andare a scoprire il motivo per cui molti reclusi trovano la morte all'interno della prigione di Cainesville. Wyatt scoprirà una fitta e misteriosa rete che organizza illegali combattimenti fra detenuti e ne rimarrà coinvolto, finendo in un vortice di violenza e criminalità.
