L'occhio privato (1977)
Un investigatore, Wells, dovrebbe indagare sulla scomparsa di un gatto (la sua cliente è una ragazza nevrotica e drogata): non lo farebbe se un suo amico detective non venisse ucciso, proprio mentre indagava sul fatto. Le indagini sono faticose (tra l'altro Wells è discretamente avanti con gli anni), ma poi la matassa si dipana e il gatto viene trovato. Wells e la sua cliente finiscono per unire le loro solitudini.
