Road to Nowhere (2010)
Il giovane regista cult statunitense Mitchell Haven ha trovato il materiale per il suo nuovo capolavoro: un film giallo tratto da una storia vera che ha per protagonisti una bella ragazza, Velma Duran, e il suo compagno Rafe Taschen, più anziano e politicamente impegnato. Il fallimento del loro truffaldino piano di corruzione causa l’uccisione di un vicesceriffo e culmina nel drammatico suicidio della sfortunata coppia. Mitchell si innamora di questa storia dal finale tragico e ancor più della splendida Velma Duran. Il suo amore si accende ulteriormente quando ingaggia per il film Laurel Graham, modella e attrice emergente che può vantare un’inquietante somiglianza con Velma. Quando però iniziano le riprese, nel luogo stesso degli avvenimenti, Mitchell fa una terribile scoperta.
