Il compleanno di Laila (2009)
"Alle otto è il compleanno di Laila, ok?" La moglie del giudice palestinese, diventato tassista, Abu Laila, ricorda al marito. Ma il giorno del compleanno della sua giovane figlia, come ogni giorno, Abu affronta un cambiamento snervante in un taxi giallo di Ramallah armato solo dell'orgoglio mal riposto di un ex giurista, della lealtà di un padre e di un adesivo che ricorda ai passeggeri che fumare e trasportare AK-47 è proibito. Piuttosto che affrontare la politica o documentare l'eroismo e la malvagità della guerra santa, Laila's Birthday si concentra sul bilancio che l'infinito conflitto israelo-palestinese strappa ai civili aggrappati sia al lavoro che a una parvenza di vita normale tra caos e corruzione, attacchi missilistici e raffiche di armi da fuoco.
