Prima e dopo (1996)
Una rispettabile famiglia della provincia americana viene gettata nell'incubo quando, dopo il ritrovamento del cadavere della fidanzata del figlio, il ragazzo scompare. Carolyn e Ben Ryan, mentre lottano per scoprire la verità, o almeno una parte di essa, sono torturati dal dubbio che il figlio possa davvero essere responsabile del crimine. La terribile incertezza li spinge a scelte divergenti: collaborare con la giustizia, nascondere le prove, affidarsi ai cavilli e alla giurisprudenza.
