Shane e Lizzie (Mary-Kate e Ashley Olsen), due sorelle gemelle dai caratteri inconciliabili, che non si vedono da anni, si ritrovano a Cabo San Lucas come concorrenti di un programma televisivo, consistente in una gara di sopravvivenza. Per riuscire a conquistare il premio in palio, ovvero una borsa di studio, Shane e Lizzie, compagne della stessa squadra, dovranno sforzarsi ad andare d'accordo e a nascondere le rispettive storie d'amore che vanno contro le regole del gioco...
