L'amore di una grande regina (1954)
Nel palazzoo di Kensington, a Londra, i lacchè si agitano confusamente. La regina madre, duchessa di Kent, è fuori di sè. Suo fratello, il re Leopoldo del Belgio, corruga la fronte, e minaccia il navigato Presidente del Consiglio Lord Melbourne di far saltare il programma: la regina, la giovane fanciulla Vittoria, è scomparsa; semplicemente sparita, senza interpellare il cerimoniale. Insieme a lei altri non c'erano che la sua educatrice tedesca, la baronessa Lehzen, e il suo anziano lacchè personale George. Il tutto avveniva alla viglia del suo compleanno. Ospiti illustri sono presenti in città: Il re d'Olanda con suo figlio; il ganduca Alessandro di Rossia, suo futuro sposo secondo la volontà di sua madre e dello zio incoronato.
