Jennifer acquista un vecchio registratore in una vendita di oggetti usati scoprendo che nasconde la registrazione della voce di un uomo che implora che gli sia risparmiata la vita. Quando l'ex proprietario dell'oggetto, un terapeuta oramai in pensione, viene assassinato nell'appartamento di una persona che aveva in cura, Jenn con le sue indagini arriva ad altri pazienti le cui vite sentimentali sono molto più complesse di ciò che credeva.
