Il gioco delle coppie (2018)
Alain, editore di successo, e Leonard, suo autore storico, faticano a comprendere il mondo dell’editoria contemporanea, fatta di e-book e social media. Quando si incontrano per discutere del nuovo manoscritto di Leonard – l’ennesimo romanzo autobiografico incentrato sulla sua storia d’amore con una celebrità minore – Alain rifiuta di pubblicarlo. La moglie di Alain, Selena, non è d’accordo: è convinta che il libro sia un capolavoro. Ma il suo giudizio potrebbe essere di parte, dato che è l’amante di Leonard. Leonard intanto sta con Valerie, che sul libro dà ragione ad Alain, il quale nel frattempo cerca di riformare la sua casa editrice confrontandosi con una consulente esperta di e-book. Che è anche la sua amante. Nella commedia che ha conquistato il festival di Venezia con il suo intreccio di relazioni troppo assurde per essere finte, Olivier Assayas racconta il mondo che cambia e il modo in cui riusciamo (o non riusciamo) a stargli dietro.
