The Eagle (2011)
Marcus Aquila nel 140 d.C. giunge in Britannia come giovane comandante al suo primo importante incarico. Sulle sue spalle grava un pesante fardello. Suo padre tempo prima era alla guida della Nona Legione composta da 5.000 uomini tutti scomparsi. Insieme a loro è andato perduto anche il simbolo dell'orgoglio di Roma: il vessillo con l'aquila. Marcus, dopo aver mostrato sul campo il proprio coraggio ed essere tornato ferito a Roma ospite di uno zio, assiste a un combattimento nell'arena in cui ammira lo sprezzo del pericolo di uno schiavo britannico, Esca. Lo salva da morte certa e lo prende con sé. Insieme torneranno in Britannia alla ricerca dell'aquila.
