Assunta come psicologa infantile nella scuola di Sierra Vista, la dottoressa Jennifer Stillman è coinvolta nel caso di Benjamin, un piccolo orfano convinto che il suo vero padre sia un alieno e che prima o poi tornerà per riprenderlo con sé. Jennifer crede che il ragazzo adottato dal dottor Michael McCann soffra le conseguenze della tragica scomparsa dei genitori avvenuta in circostanze misteriose anni prima, ma poi accade qualcosa di inaspettato.
