Tappo è un cagnolino abituato a vivere nell'agio e nel lusso. Dopo la morte della sua amata e ricca padrona, viene inaspettatamente cacciato di casa e per la prima volta deve imparare a cavarsela da solo nel mondo reale. Dopo mille avventure nella grande città, riesce a trovare un nuovo padrone: si tratta di Zoe, una ragazza che sogna di diventare una cantante famosa e che vive in un seminterrato. Sarà Zoe che aiuterà Tappo a sfuggire ai perfidi Charles e Victoria, gli avidi e spietati figli della ricca defunta, decisi a mettere le mani sul patrimonio ereditato da Tappo a sua insaputa.
