Ethan Frome - La storia di un amore proibito (1993)
Tratto da un romanzo di Edith Wharton (autrice anche di L'età dell'innocenza), il film racconta la storia di un emarginato, Ethan Frome. Il nuovo parroco giunge in un paesino del Massachusetts e qui scopre l'esistenza di un individuo isolato. L'uomo ha sofferto per il matrimonio con la moglie Zeena, ha amato una sua cugina, Mattie, ma ha deciso di rinunciare a lei non riuscendo però a evitare quella che in paese è ritenuta una punizione divina.
