In occasione del concerto di Gala del 29 settembre 2018, Franz Welser-Möst ha eseguito con la Cleveland Orchestra opere che toccano più di un secolo di tradizioni musicali viennesi. Si apre con il Concerto per pianoforte e orchestra n. 24 di Mozart, con il solista Lang Lang, segue la Symphonic Fantasy dal "Die Frau ohne Schatten" di Richard Strausse, il waltzer Wiener Blut di Johann Strauss, e si conclude con la cataclismatica La Valse di Ravel.
