L'ultimo Vermeer (2019)
Mentre Joseph Piller (Claes Bang), un ebreo olandese, combatteva nella Resistenza durante la Seconda guerra mondiale, l’arguto e cortese esperto d’arte Han van Meegeren (Guy Pearce) ospitava serate edonistiche e vendeva tesori dell’arte olandese a Hermann Göring e altri ufficiali nazisti. Dopo la guerra, Piller diventa un investigatore col compito di identificare e ridistribuire l’arte rubata, accusando l’esuberante van Meegeren di collaborazionismo, un crimine punibile con la morte. Ma, nonostante le prove raccolte, Piller, con l’aiuto della sua assistente (Vicky Krieps) si convince sempre di più dell’innocenza di Han e si trova nell’improbabile posizione di lottare per salvargli la vita.
